AUGUST 25, 2011 BOARD MEETING MINUTES
I.
Call to Order:President, Donna Chapman called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
II.
Roll Call:
President
Donna Chapman, Treasurer D Starr, Alternate Miriam Goad, Vice-President Rick Lingle and Secretary
Carol Opalinski.
III.
Approval of Minutes: The Last Meeting
Minutes were read by Carol Opalinski and a motion was brought to accept the
Minutes. Correction to the 7/28/11 Minutes are:
Tom Mose bills is $38.97 is for every 3 months. The Minutes of July 28, 2011 were approved
with the previous correction.
IV.
Treasurer’s Report: D handed out a
bookkeeper’s report for our review. The
CPA is preparing our taxes. Mr. Donn
suggests that we put “address service required” on our envelopes, in order for
the post office to give us the person’s new address. Rick Lingle brought a motion to approve the
July-August Profit & Loss Report as written. Carol Opalinski seconded the motion. The motion was passed.
V.
Unfinished Business: Donna and Barbara drove around the neighbor
and took notes about property that has excessive garbage. There are many properties have been cleaned
up and we are all grateful. Donna
thanked Tom Mose for the picnic. He did
a great job and everyone enjoyed themselves.
It is a great community event.
VI.
New Business: Problems in the neighbor with fights, drugs,
vandalism, graffiti, etc. Donna spoke to
a Pierce Co. Deputy about patrolling the neighborhood Deputy Joe McDonald,
would work with another deputy on a Friday and Saturday, alternating between 9
p.m. and 12 p.m. The Deputy would meet
with a Board Member prior to starting their shift to discuss where they should
go and report to us. D motioned to
hire Deputy McDonald for Friday and Saturday, 9-12 p.m. Rick Lingle seconded. This motion was passed. This is only temporary
until approved by the membership in our October General Membership meeting A
phone call was taken by Deputy McDonald & Deputy Carl Shanks, to tell Them
that we have passed a motion to hire them, starting this Friday night. Three Board members will meet him at the South
Beach tomorrow at 9 p.m.
Rich Goad suggests
replacing the fence with a taller fence, in order that children will not be
able to jump over the fence. This should
be under Projects and does not need to be voted. An estimate from Kiwi Fence is $1140, which
includes installation. Rich Goad will
get 2 other estimates. D brought a
motion to get 2 more bids for fencing.
Rick Lingle seconded the motion. The motion was passed. If anyone is interested in submitting an estimate
on fencing, they can call 253-884-1414 and leave a message. Anyone who is bonded and licensed is welcome
to submit a bid.
